This extraordinary program traces a journey through centuries and continents—from Purcell’s haunting baroque lament to Rimbaud’s fevered visions in Britten’s Les Illuminations, from André Previn’s poignant Honey and Rue to the vibrant storytelling of Caribbean folk songs.

In the flickering glow of candlelight, De Bique’s “luminous voice” (The Guardian) illuminates songs of searching and memory, exile and homecoming, shadow and revelation. Thoughtfully crafted cocktails by The Roosevelt Room accompany the evening.
