Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez and percussionist, vocalist and composer Pedrito Martinez bring together two remarkable musical journeys in a collaboration that is as exhilarating as it is deeply rooted in tradition. First joining forces on Rodríguez’s The Invasion Parade before releasing their acclaimed duo album Duologue, the pair have developed a rare musical chemistry that blends virtuosity, spontaneity and infectious rhythm.
A protégé of Quincy Jones, Alfredo Rodríguez combines classical training with fearless jazz improvisation and Afro-Cuban influences, creating a distinctive pianistic style of extraordinary brilliance. Pedrito Martinez, one of the world’s foremost masters of Afro-Cuban percussion and song, has collaborated with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Sting and Paul Simon, bringing unmatched energy and authenticity to every performance. Together they create a vibrant dialogue between piano, percussion and voice, transforming Cuban classics, original compositions and unexpected favourites into a joyful celebration of rhythm, improvisation and musical connection.
