Our Mission

ATX Chamber Music and Jazz aims to present the most innovative, engaging, and immersive chamber music and jazz performances available anywhere. Deriving influences from Austin’s vibrant character, the organization curates unforgettable events by combining exceptional music with social connection. Aside from crafting luxury concert experiences, the organization is committed to making music accessible to all. To this aim, the artists of ATX Music regularly visit schools, youth and retirement centers, to ensure our entire community can experience great music.

Defying Conventions

Founded in 2023, ATX Chamber Music and Jazz crafts thrilling concert experiences that defy convention. We present the world’s greatest musicians and curate top-tier performances in diverse venues, complemented by engaging social activities such as artist meet and greets, pre-concert discussions, and vibrant happy hours. From elegant concert halls to lively bars, our events cater to every community member, breaking boundaries with innovative, themed programming that embraces various cultures, ideas, and artists. Who we are

Geoffrey Herd

CEO & Co-Artistic Director

Violinist Geoffrey Herd dedicates his diverse musical career to enriching cultural landscapes and fostering musical talent within communities. His roles as a soloist, chamber musician, artistic director, and educator have allowed him to engage audiences in concert halls across the globe and support the development of aspiring musicians.

Herd’s collaborative performances with esteemed artists and orchestras have led him to perform in reputable venues such as the Isabel Stewart Gardner Museum of Art in Boston, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, and universities and conservatories worldwide.

In addition to his performance career, Herd is the founder and director of the Geneva Music Festival. This platform unites accomplished classical and jazz performers and has gained national recognition in its 14th season, with performances regularly broadcast on major media outlets across the country. Furthering his leadership activities, Herd also serves as the CEO and co-artistic director of ATX Chamber Music and Jazz (ATX Music), an organization committed to creating the most innovative, engaging, and immersive chamber music and jazz performances available anywhere.

He performs on the “Berkic-Pennington” Carlo Bergonzi violin, crafted in Cremona in 1737.

Anna Petrova

Co-Artistic Director

Praised for her “artistic, clear and enlightened” performances (BBC Magazine) that showcase “refined virtuosity and underlying passion” (Ritmo Magazine), Bulgarian pianist Anna Petrova embraces a multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, and artistic director. She has been the recipient of top honors and awards at international piano competition, including the Queen Elisabeth and Jose Roca Competitions, leading her to perform in renowned venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. An avid chamber musician, Petrova is a member of two award-winning ensembles: the Carr-Petrova Duo, and Iris Trio. Alongside her performing career, she shares her passion for music education as the Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Louisville.

Petrova’s latest project is serving as the Co-artistic director of ATX Chamber Music and Jazz: an organization curating extraordinary musical and social experiences, while also offering educational opportunities to the local community.

Caroline Lazar

Marketing and Operations Manager

Caroline Lazar is an accomplished musician and music educator, currently serving as the Administrative Coordinator at Austin Chamber Music and Jazz. With a deep-rooted passion for music education, Caroline is also the founder of Bungalow Music School, where she inspires and nurtures young communities through the power of music in New York, Nashville, and Austin, Texas.

Her dedication to enriching lives through music resonates in her work, both as a musician and an advocate for the arts and education. Caroline is honored to be part of ATXCMJ’s inaugural season, bringing world-class musicians to our Austin community. 

Ensemble ATX

One of the nation’s most exclusive chamber music societies, Ensemble ATX, the resident ensemble of ATX Chamber Music and Jazz, is kicking off its inaugural season in spectacular fashion.

Audiences can expect to see the core members return year after year, offering captivating performances along with educational and enrichment initiatives for the local community.
