Words of Passion with Dover Quartet
“Life is for the living.
Death is for the dead.
Let life be like music.
And death a note unsaid.”
– Langston Hughes
Behind closed doors lies a world of mystery, passion, and true stories that sparked some of the most riveting pieces of chamber music. Join us for this one-of-a-kind evening with the renowned Dover Quartet and our 2024 Texas Poet Laureate, Amanda Johnston. Hear “one of the greatest string quartets of our times” (BBC Magazine) perform works by Turina, Janacek, and Schubert, and hear the personal stories behind the conception of each work.
To enhance the overall sensory experience our expert mixologists, led by Joe Kennedy, will craft Spanish-inspired cocktails and Spanish Chef Fer Candil will prepare delicious Spanish tapas.
